| 备注 | This followed the success of my previous Colour Challenge for the NWCQ group. This time there are just five of us taking part - the entire MEG group! The chosen colours are: Taupe, Ecru, and Cobalt. I added the deep orange fabric as a contrast. Not entirely sure whether to use this since it did leach some colour when I washed it. Probably should wash it again to make sure it is truly colourfast before using it. Post script - in the end I didn't use this orange fabric. It will find a home elsewhere. Notes copied from The Foldline: Not sure yet what this will become. The collection of fabrics came about as a result of a group challenge which I organised. Colour names were chosen at random – cobalt, ecru and taupe. All five taking part brought half a metre of one of these colours. I then cut up the fabric so we each got an equal amount. The challenge now is to make something with the fabric. Hmmm. The deadline for this is our September meeting. 25th September – this has turned into a wallhanging which I have entered for showing at Quiltfest in February as part of the Quilters’ Guild Region 13 exhibition. The quilt is now finished and the statement which went with the entry form read: Design based on photos taken beside the Weaver Navigation walking with my dogs Sasha and Ella. Pieced background using challenge fabrics, free machine quilting with bondaweb applique. |
