I'm mducky. I a proud mama of two little boys: "Ducky" just turned 5 and "Tuesday" is 2 1/2. They're adorable little red-headed demons and I love them to bits. I've been quilting about 5 years, sewing since I was probably about 12. Finished my first quilt while I was home on maternity leave after Ducky was born. A year later, my adoring (and adorable) husband, "The Mr." bought me a Tin Lizzie 18DSL long arm quilting machine for Christmas and I've been a perpetual student of quiltling ever since.I work full time (and then some) as a Project Manager at a Fortune 500 company and sew 100% for my own enjoyment, though I do make a little money to finance my hobbies by selling baby quilts in an Etsy shop. They're my practice pieces as I gain skills and confidence on "Lizzie". I occasionally make things that aren't quilts, but given my incredibly limited hobby time, those tend to be quick little projects that take no time, like turning my sons' drawings into snuggly monsters for them to sleep with.

Please don't feel shy, Nightlady. We were all beginners once upon a time and some "beginners" are very talented sewers.
Mducky is a very talented, and prolific quilter. I love the idea of her sewing "snuggly monsters" for her sons. Such an enchanting idea.

Ok :) I sewed a blanket for my baby girl. I added it to my projects... the front looks not bad at all... and the backside is lying face down, so everything is ok :D

I took all fabrics from my stash and looked, what and how to combine it. It took a while until I liked the pattern, but it works really good together. And my girl loves the sheep and tries to grab them from the blanket :D

How lovely!
Yes, it can take some time to get just the right balance of colours. It is well worth the effort.

Oh, heavens! You shouldn't be shy. We all started somewhere! I'm a perpetual student, myself. Every quilt I do is a step better than the last!

Welcome to quilting!
